Job Description
The Sporting Club at The Bellevue has an exciting opportunity for a Part-time Golf Instructor to join our growing team. We are looking for an expert in the field of golf to conduct lessons, clinics, and provide the best service for the club members.
As experts in the field of golf, our instructors are required to assist, be a point of contact with any inquiries about the program and/or answer any questions related to our Trackman simulators. In addition, our instructors are encouraged to demonstrate patience and enthusiasm to motivate members to accomplish their golf goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct exemplary lessons, clinics, and special events for members
- Drive lesson sales and simulator usage in accordance with Department of Athletics revenue goals
- Teach and help improve member skills and technique
- Have a deep understanding of the game and its fundamentals—staying on top of current golf trends
- Manage their time and member appointments accordingly via Club Automation
- Work with golf associates and team members to keep a clean and orderly work environment
- Work with the Director of Athletics to produce new ideas, special events, and provide meaningful feedback to boost the golf program
- Elevate the entire club staff by providing knowledge and expertise gained through their professional experience and training
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years teaching/coaching in a fitness and/or athletic related environment
- Current CPR/AED and first aid certification required
- The following certifications are preferred and/or a plus:
- PGA Professional Certification
- USGTF Teaching Professional
- LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Certification
- PGA Master Professional Certification
Technical Skills/Knowledge:
- Proficient use of hardware and software programs, including MS Office, Club Automation and Payroll processing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service focus, professionalism, and discretion
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry and otherwise move up to 25 pounds daily
- Ability to sit, stand and walk around the Club for various lengths of time and at various points in time throughout a scheduled shift
- Ability to proficiently operate computer hardware and software on a daily basis
- Ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, and guests
Compensation and Scheduling
- $22 - 25/hourly; Rate will vary for clinic and lesson instruction
- 20 - 25/hours per week
