HR Assistant / Coordinator Essential Duties:
- First point of contact in the Human Resources department; meet and greet visitors and support employee inquiries, answer frequently asked questions related to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc. refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation, ensure timely filing of records while maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of all records.
- Perform monthly audit of invoices; medical, dental, vision, life/LTD, auto accidents, license and certifications of staff
- Assist with the planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings/events, and the employee recognition program
- Act as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors
- Assist with payroll functions, including answering employee questions about paid time off (PTO), viewing time cards, if needed.
Experience:
- Maintaining and organizing confidential personnel records (e.g., I-9s, benefits forms, employee records) required
- Hands-on experience using HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday, UKG, or similar) to input, update, and track employee data required
- Familiarity with HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, payroll, and benefits enrollment required
- Demonstrated experience responding to employee questions related to benefits, policies, or employment procedures required
- Strong working knowledge of confidentiality practices and HR compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, FMLA, EEO) preferred.
- Experience coordinating or supporting HR events (e.g., open enrollment, staff appreciation, training, or orientations) is a plus.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of administrative experience in a Human Resources department or related office environment required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
