About the Company

The Living Company ("TLC") is a Dallas based, PE-backed sourcing, logistics, design, and installation provider of furniture, fixtures, cabinets, countertops, and shower systems. We serve leading developers, general contractors, and property managers across the student housing, hospitality, multifamily, and build to rent ("BTR") end markets.

Blake Solutions (BSI) is TLC's construction and installation division, providing full-service millwork, cabinetry, countertop, and specialty installation services to GCs and developers across commercial and residential projects.

Role Overview

The Field Operations Manager – West Region leads BSI's field installation operations across the western United States, with a focus area of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. This role manages a regional portfolio of BSI projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and to specification.

This role combines hands-on field oversight with regional leadership. The Field Operations Manager directs field crews, installers, and subcontractors, serves as BSI's on-the-ground representative with GCs, owners, and site stakeholders, and operates independently across multiple states and job sites, with regular travel throughout the region.

The West Region includes some of the most demanding labor and regulatory environments in the country. This role requires significant experience operating under California laws and regulations, including Cal/OSHA, prevailing wage, and California-specific labor and job site requirements, and significant experience managing union labor and working on union projects, including coordinating with trade unions and meeting collective bargaining agreement and project labor agreement requirements.

The Field Operations Manager reports to the President of Construction and plays a key role in building BSI's presence in the West Region, contributing to process improvement, installer network development, and operational excellence across the division.

  • Proactively identify schedule, quality, or budget risks and drive resolution before they escalate.
Union Labor & Labor Compliance
  • Manage union labor on assigned projects, coordinating with union representatives, business agents, and hiring halls as required.
  • Ensure field operations comply with applicable collective bargaining agreements and project labor agreements, including jurisdiction, staffing, and work-rule requirements.
  • Support prevailing wage compliance on public works projects, including accurate crew classifications and timely field documentation for certified payroll.
  • Identify and promptly escalate potential labor disputes, jurisdictional issues, or grievances to leadership.
California & Multi-State Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure field operations comply with California laws and regulations, including Cal/OSHA requirements and California-specific labor and job site rules.
  • Track and apply state and local requirements across the West Region, including permitting, site access, and contractor compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Legal, HR, and Contract & Compliance to confirm that licensing, insurance (COI), and registration requirements are met before work begins in a new state or jurisdiction.
Installer & Subcontractor Leadership
  • Direct and coordinate field crews and subcontractors on assigned projects, setting clear expectations for quality and schedule.
  • Evaluate installer performance across the region and provide feedback to leadership.
  • Review, evaluate, and coordinate approval of installer change orders.
  • Manage punch list distribution, tracking, and resolution to ensure complete and timely closeout.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with BSI's installer network in the West Region, and help develop installer capacity in new markets.
