RN Charge at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

WKB 3 North Med/Surg/Tele floor is looking for a 7p-7a, full-time charge nurse. 3 North is a 36-bed unit with telemetry capabilities. We provide care to a variety of patients. This position requires the candidate to work every other weekend and some holidays. The position requires an RN who is ACLS certified with preferably 2–3 years of med/surg/tele experience in the acute care setting. Hardworking, dependable, compassionate, and a team player are just a few of the qualities the applicant should possess. The average nurse to patient ratio is 1:5. Charge nurse responsibilities include making patient assignments, delegating appropriate tasks to nurses and nursing assistants, being a role model for staff nurses, being a resource person for other members of the health care team, as well as providing excellent patient care. Will help with educating and informing floor staff of any new changes, and monitoring the policies, procedures, and practices of the facility. Flexibility is a plus due to nursing being a constantly changing field. New employees receive a comprehensive hospital orientation and unit specific orientation where they are paired with a preceptor for 1:1 instruction.
