About This Position

This will be a hybrid position - office and remote work.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Resource Development Specialist supports the strategic fundraising efforts of Amanecer Community Counseling Service (ACCS) by writing proposals for program funding, designing, implementing, evaluating, and refining programs aimed at targeting donors and prospects. From assisting department leaders in developing fundraising plans, maintaining donor relationships, and securing new ones, the Specialist advances ACCS’ initiative through actively seeking partners and potential donors.

The Resource Development Specialist will also be responsible for grant management, including grant design, proposal and report writing, prospect research, effective cultivation, and stewardship. As a member of the front-line fundraising team, the Resource Development Specialist expected to build and engage stakeholders from the community and private sector.

The Resource Development Specialist will be an active listener and engaging storyteller, organize with various business partners and organize events increasing brand awareness, funding, and work closely with fund development committee.

Identifies, researches, applies for, administers, and coordinates Resource Development Services with federal, state and/or local grant monies, foundations and corporations and/or other Request for Proposal/purchasing solicitation monies in accordance with applicable standards, regulations and guidelines.

SPECIALIZATIONS

  • Advanced writing skills and a proven record of attaining private/ public funding.
  • Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and be self-directed.
  • Knowledge of institutional funding principles, methods, procedures, and resources.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment.
  • Project planning and management skills.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to conduct prepared or impromptu presentations effectively to small and large groups.
  • Ability to assess and interpret the needs and wishes of prospective funding agencies and translate these into effective action plans/ program development.
  • Skill in budget creation and preparation.
  • Advanced analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with leadership, staff, community leadership, and funding agencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMETENCIES

Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; a directly related higher degree from an accredited institution may be substituted for up to two years of experience, and/ or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform assigned duties.Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or related field; 2 years’ work experience preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Superior professional level writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, etc.)
  • Good technical understanding and can learn new hardware and software quickly.
