About This Position

Works closely with cardiologists, radiologists, RN's and fellow radiographers to perform technical procedures in the Cardiac, Vascular, Interventional Radiology, and Electrophysiology Labs. Scrubs in and assists physicians with procedures including diagnostic and emergent cardiovascular procedures. Position requires specialized knowledge and skills specific to cardiovascular procedures. Performs radiographic procedures of a highly specialized nature. This position is responsiblie for circulating, scrubbing/assisting, and documentation.
- Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology required
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and/or registry eligible
- Two years' experience in general radiology or training in a special procedures department preferred
- Experience in cardiovascular procedures, including Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, and Structural Heart preferred
- Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical and technical personnel
- Knowledge of electrical, radiation and infectious hazards
- Capable of lifting and positioning patients and equipment
- Position requires ability to walk frequently; stand and sit for prolonged periods; see objects closely; and hear normal sounds with background noises
- Certification in BLS and ACLS required
- Must demonstrate competency and confidence in specialized cardiovascular procedures within 6 months of hire
- Ability to remain calm and work competently and confidently in high stress, fast paced situations
- Must be able to participate, as assigned, in the 24/7 STEMI call back team with ability to respond within 30 minutes
