Collaborating Physician (PRN)
Location: Cary, NC – Hybrid/Remote Support

Oaks Health Associates PC, a nurse practitioner-led clinic in Cary, North Carolina, is seeking a Collaborating Physician on a PRN basis to support our two nurse practitioners. This role is ideal for a physician interested in providing oversight to experienced advanced practice providers in a low-acuity, compliance-driven setting.

Position Overview:

As the Collaborating Physician, you will provide clinical oversight, offer recommendations, and participate in quality improvement (QI) reviews monthly for the first six months, and semiannually thereafter, in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing and North Carolina Board of Medicine requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a collaborating physician for two experienced Nurse Practitioners

  • Provide remote oversight and support via phone or virtual communication

  • Review charts, labs, and treatment plans as needed

  • Participate in scheduled QI reviews

  • Offer clinical guidance and mentorship on a consultative basis as needed

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree with an active, unrestricted North Carolina medical license

  • In good standing with the North Carolina Medical Board

  • Previous experience collaborating with advanced practice providers preferred

  • Strong communication, professionalism, and a collegial mindset

Compensation & Details:

  • Each NP is part-time and has over 10 years of clinical experience, primarily performing veteran pension exams and adult primary care.

  • Compensation: $350 per NP/month (total $700/month for 2 NPs)

  • Malpractice insurance is provided by Oaks Health Associates for the collaborating physician
