Shipping Supervisor at Hans Kissle – Haverhill, Massachusetts

Today we have two manufacturing facilities in Massachusetts and North Carolina.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Shipping Supervisor to oversee outbound operations at our refrigerated food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for coordinating daily shipping activities to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of finished goods to our customers while maintaining cold chain integrity. The ideal candidate has experience in refrigerated logistics, leads by example, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise day-to-day shipping operations, including loading, staging, and outbound documentation

• Ensure shipments meet customer specifications, food safety standards, and company policies

• Coordinate with production, customer service, and transportation partners to align shipping schedules

• Monitor and maintain proper temperature controls during loading and transit preparation

• Lead, train, and motivate a team of shipping associates to meet operational goals

• Maintain accurate inventory and shipping records through ERP or WMS systems

• Perform audits of outbound loads and verify accuracy against pick lists and bills of lading

• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce shipping errors and improve efficiency

• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and food safety regulations

• Participate in safety meetings and enforce safety policies on the shipping dock

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred

• 3+ years of shipping/logistics experience in a food manufacturing or cold storage environment

• Prior leadership or supervisory experience required

• Knowledge of cold chain logistics and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, SQF)

• Familiarity with WMS/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in refrigerated conditions (34-40°F)

• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
