Vehicle Mechanic (Fleet – Heavy & Light Duty) in Chelsea, Massachusetts at HOP Energy, LLC

Position Summary

The Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and overhauling company-owned fleet vehicles and equipment, including light-duty vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, tank trucks, tractors, trailers, and related equipment. This role ensures fleet safety, reliability, and compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations while minimizing vehicle downtime.

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel system issues through inspection, testing, and road evaluation.
• Repair, rebuild, or replace engines, transmissions, differentials, braking systems, suspension, exhaust, cooling, and fuel systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair diesel and gasoline fuel injection systems, electrical wiring, lighting, ignition, starters, alternators, and batteries.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with company PM programs.
• Respond to road service calls and perform on-site repairs or coordinate vehicle recovery.
• Safely remove, repair, and replace heavy truck tires (up to 125 lbs).
• Complete accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and DOT-required paperwork.
• Perform all work in compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and Hazardous Materials Safety Regulations.
