Diesel Shop Service Writer at SALSON LOGISTICS INC – NEWARK, New Jersey

Position Description: We are seeking a Breakdown Coordinator, to provide critical support to drivers facing vehicle breakdowns, ensuring they receive timely assistance and solutions. You will be responsible for fielding breakdown calls for company equipment, creating/document breakdown events, dispatching service providers out to repair equipment, process invoices for payment to providers.

• Communicate with Drivers for on-the-road maintenance needs.
• Dispatch roadside assistance services and track progress until the issue is resolved.
• Troubleshoot issues over the phone when possible and advise on the next steps.
• Document all interactions and maintain accurate records of breakdown incidents.
• Ensure customers' safety and satisfaction throughout the breakdown resolution process.
• Resolve tire and equipment issues related to breakdown, repair, and roadside assistance to ensure quality and safety of repairs, minimize cost, and maximize equipment utilization.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address any additional customer needs or follow-up.

• 3+ years of hands-on fleet and diesel maintenance experience
• Ability to think quickly, stay calm under pressure, and handle stressful situations effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to think on your feet.
• Strong multi-tasking abilities
• Empathy and a customer-first approach to service.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple breakdown operations simultaneously. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
