SUMMARY: With supervision and support, provides behavioral services to individual students as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Essential Functions:

1. Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and works with IEP teams to develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP); provides IEP teams with consultation and training regarding implementation of the BIP.

2. Monitors the integrity of BIP implementation and data collection.

3. Maintains records, participates in interdisciplinary teams, and attends designated meetings.

4. Provides consultation and support to students, staff, parents, and community-based professionals.

Marginal Functions:

1. Performs additional duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS:

Equipment Used: Selected test materials, stop watch/timers, personal computer/laptop, telephone.

Performance Standard: Must consistently demonstrate clinical competence in all areas of performance within recognized standards for behaviorists.

Work Environment: Multiple indoor environments, on and off campus, with a variety of sound, lighting, and temperature conditions.

Work Schedule: 35 daytime hours per week with 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Additional time may be required for job completion. Flextime scheduling may occur. This position has an annual 11-month schedule.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, skills, and general abilities:

1. Master’s or Doctoral degree in ABA, psychology, or special education.

2. Board certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral.

3. Must possess and maintain certification as a behavioral analyst in the state of Maryland.

4. Comprehensive knowledge of conducting and interpreting results of Functional Behavior Assessments.

5. Comprehensive knowledge of data collection, functional assessment, and behavior modification techniques.

6. General knowledge of normal and abnormal human development, including a general knowledge of the impact of children's psychosocial problems on learning and classroom behavior.

7. Basic knowledge of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

8. Basic computer skills related to common office functions (e.g. email, online searches, using Microsoft Office).

9. Flexibility with regard to daily routine, caseload, and responsibilities.

10. School experience preferred

After the six months in this position, the employee will have:

1. General knowledge of: visual impairment/blindness relative to testing and social-emotional development; behavioral management techniques used with students with multiple disabilities; IDEA regulations and service implications; MSB policies and procedures.

2. Basic knowledge of MSDE regulations regarding the provision of psychological services.

3. CPR/First Aid Certification.

4. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Training completed.
