Job Overview: The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner NPDP is a registered professional nurse who has expertise in nursing professional development, education, and/or a specific area or areas of nursing practice. The NPDP employed in this position will be directly involved in the orientation and onboarding of newly licensed graduate nurses, experienced nurses, and ancillary employees in the Behavioral Health and Psychiatric Emergency Department. The NPDP will work to support newly licensed graduate nurses in the Nurse Residency Program by assessing and validating clinical competency while ensuring a smooth transition into the role of professional nurse. This role will support a primary focus on Behavioral Health education.

• Some Weekend Shifts Required

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing (required), MSN or doctorate preferred
• 2 years of experience in nursing specialty of given NPDP role (required)
• Certification in nursing specialty of given NPDP role (recommended)
• NPDPs for certain specialty areas may also have job specific qualifications, when appropriate
