About The Role

The Materials Planner is responsible for determining material requirements whether purchased or manufactured, work with Sourcing to place purchase orders with suppliers, and ensuring the timely delivery of material required for production. The individual will support the processing of manufactured parts, service, and parts orders in a timely manner to meet the trailer build schedule, while maintaining appropriate and accurate inventory levels. They may also be participating in continuous improvement efforts related to materials.

Responsibilities

Utilize the MRP system information to establish order requirements.
Work with Sourcing to place Purchase Orders with suppliers on a daily basis.
Expedite orders as required to ensure component timely delivery.
Develop and manage signals to suppliers in which a parts kitting process is established.
Help develop and maintain cycle counts and execute inventory adjustments within the system.
Promote and support all inventory management improvements (accuracy and reduction) while working to achieve forecasted turn rates.
Support the processing and maintenance of trailer packets released to the shop floor.
Notify leadership risks related to delivery, quality, or cost.
Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job in the factory areas, the employee is exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust, fumes and is near moving machinery.
