Position Information
Under the general direction of the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) & Chief of Staff (COS), the Director of Budget and Operations (DBO), executes diverse and complex management of administrative, space management, financial, budgetary and contracts & grants functions under the Vice Chancellor Student Affairs organization including various departments and Educational and Community Outreach Programs. The DBO provides support on budgetary planning including the coordination of developing and managing annual budget processes and plans that support the Student Affairs organization long-and short-term goals. Assists the CFAO/COS with the coordination of financial and administrative operations for all control units under the Vice Chancellor Student Affairs umbrella including special projects with external funding. Reviews and performs the highest level of sophisticated/complex budget/resource analysis, including retrieving data from campus information systems, organizing, validating, and analyzing data, and preparing executive-level reports. Provides complex analytical support/policy analysis for the organization to monitor expenditures. Provides technical support in all financial areas and system applications, and implements processes and workflows to increase efficiency and improve financial reporting tools including contract and grants management. Coordinates and maintains compliance with relevant policies and procedures to maintain sound financial conditions. Must use sound judgment at all times and base decisions and recommendations on risk assessments aligned with campus and UC policies and procedures. Represent Student Affairs at campus activities and work groups related to finance, budget, administration, payroll, contracts and grants, and space management.The salary range for this position is $103,100.00 - $196,300.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $175,000.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, UCR is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
