About the Position

Responsible for consulting with functional management and HR colleagues to deliver timely and value-added HR services and solutions which reflect the business objectives of the Company. This includes the development and delivery of HR programs and solutions, placing considerable focus on talent management, organizational effectiveness, leadership performance and engagement. This position functions very independently, regularly exercising critical thinking and independent decision making, and acts as a primary customer relationship manager for specified business groups within the Company, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations.

Day in the Life
  • Acts as a key member of the HR team supporting assigned business group(s), driving implementation of high-quality HR strategies and people-related business operations solutions.
  • Partners with leaders to understand business needs and support HR strategies that support overall objectives.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to managers on organizational and employee matters. Partners with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity, engagement, and employee retention. Develops a keen understanding of all business centers and functions, the required competencies, and current department challenges of the assigned business group(s).
  • Supports workforce planning, succession planning, and performance management processes.
  • Supports leaders in managing employee performance, including goal setting, coaching, and development planning.
  • Assist in organizational change efforts, including restructuring, team development, and process improvements.
  • Partners with HR Centers of Excellence (e.g., talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, learning & development) to deliver integrated HR solutions.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation, reducing legal risk and ensuring compliance.
  • Supports the development and implementation of programs that promote positive employee relations.
  • Manages and resolves employee relations issues, in partnership with functional management.
  • When needed, conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Proactively trains, coaches, and guides managers regarding employee relations and disciplinary actions, with a goal to ensure appropriate conversations are held with employees.
  • Conducts stay and exit interviews per agreed-upon Company policies and practices.
  • Accurately and confidentially maintains HRIS system records and other sensitive employee data.
  • Creates and maintains strong, positive working relationships with internal management and employees, external vendor partnerships, and community contacts.
  • Consistently make decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of oneself and others.
  • Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
  • Promotes and models the Company's mission, vision, and values through exercising sound and ethical business practices, championing all elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI,) and providing high quality services and programs as they relate to clients, subcontractors, co-workers, suppliers, and the public


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in business, human resources, or a related field. Master's Degree, SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), HCI Professional in HR (PHR) or Senior Professional in HR (SPHR) credential preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of HR generalist or consulting experience that involves resolving employee elations issues, preferably in a construction or related business.
  • Broad knowledge in human resource management across HR disciplines, including talent management, change management, employee relations, diversity, and performance management.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. employment law, HR best practices, Affirmative Action Planning and other federal and state employment laws and related processes. Experience with HRIS systems and data-driven decision-making.
  • Prominent level of integrity and leadership in employee engagement. Proven ability to develop trusted partnerships with senior leaders.
  • Strong business acumen, customer service skills and experience partnering with senior leaders in a process-oriented business setting. Strong skills in developing sound recommendations for management decision-making.
  • Highly effective communicator and collaborator, with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas and concepts and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels and cross functionally.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including high quality documentation and report preparation. Superior listening, presentation, interpersonal, negotiation, conflict management and persuasion skills, and the ability to influence employees at all levels, including senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex problems with critical thinking skills and detail orientation, and to drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative


Travel

• Occasional travel may be required.

Salary Range

• $108,000- $130,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
