The plant specializes in producing high-quality components supplied to OEM manufacturers of cooking and HVAC appliances and is ISO 9001:2015 certified.The Quality Manager will actively lead and participate in all quality assurance and quality control activities. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality systems while working directly on the floor to ensure consistent product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement, reduce defects, manage supplier quality, and support production teams while collaborating closely with the Assembly Plant Manager to achieve plant-wide goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.Key ResponsibilitiesActively lead and participate in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and OEM customer requirements.Hands-on oversight of all quality assurance and quality control processes, including incoming inspection, in-process monitoring, final inspection, and testing of assembled components.Conduct internal audits, manage external audits, and ensure ongoing ISO 9001:2015 certification compliance; prepare for and support customer audits as needed.Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) using Six Sigma, Lean, 8D, and other problem-solving tools to address quality issues and reduce defects.Manage supplier quality performance, including supplier audits, incoming material verification, and resolution of supplier-related quality concerns.Collaborate with production, engineering, and the Assembly Plant Manager to support new product introductions, process changes, and APQP/PPAP activities.Develop and monitor key quality metrics (KPIs) such as first-pass yield, defect rates, scrap, cost of quality, and customer complaint resolution; report progress to the Plant Manager.Lead, mentor, and work alongside the quality team, including inspectors and technicians; provide training on quality tools, procedures, and best practices while actively participating in daily quality activities.Champion a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the facility using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.Investigate customer complaints and field issues; ensure timely resolution and implementation of lessons learned.Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and industry-specific standards.Perform other duties as assigned by the Assembly Plant Manager to support overall plant objectives.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Engineering, Science, Technology, Mathematics, or related technical discipline) required.Experience:5–7 years of progressive quality leadership experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Demonstrated success in a hands-on quality management or supervisory role within a facility supplying OEM customers (appliance, HVAC, or similar industries preferred). Strong experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Certification: Certified Six Sigma Black Belt required.Training: Formal Lean training required.Standards Experience: Direct, hands-on experience maintaining and improving ISO 9001:2015 certification, including internal auditing and corrective action processes.Strong technical knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including statistical process control (SPC), PFMEA, control plans, PPAP, APQP, and root cause analysis.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and data-driven decision-making skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems; familiarity with quality management software is a plus.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization while working hands-on in a smaller facility.Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or shifts, as needed to support production and quality needs.Preferred SkillsBackground in appliance components, HVAC, cooking equipment, or similar assembly-heavy industries supplying OEMs.Experience with additional quality standards such as IATF 16949 or customer-specific OEM requirements.Prior experience in a union or non-union manufacturing environment.Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and capital project support from a quality perspective.What We OfferCompetitive base salary with performance-based bonus opportunities.Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.Opportunity to make a significant impact on quality excellence in a growing, entrepreneurial environment while reporting directly to the Assembly Plant Manager.This role is ideal for an experienced leader with a technical background who is passionate about quality systems and driving measurable improvements in a precision assembly environment.
