About This Position

Chicanos Por La Causa provides a comprehensive senior housing and meal program, including a center‐based program that offers advocacy and case management services. Along with assisting its residents though supportive services, the CPLC Senior Services program also provides its clients with a “Meals on Wheels” program as well a Senior Center Based Meal Program.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?

You will play a key role in delivering engaging programs, activities, and wellness services to the aging population. In this role, you will help older adults stay active, socially connected, and motivated to achieve their health and wellness goals.

You will work directly with clients to identify their needs, help them overcome challenges, and develop programs that support their overall well-being. From organizing activities and fitness programs to coordinating community partnerships and educational workshops, you will create opportunities that enrich the lives of seniors in the community.

You are also adaptable and collaborative, ready to support different areas of the center when needed to ensure participants receive the best possible experience.

Ideally, you bring strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and a passion for helping people live healthier, more connected lives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education /Background:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • College degree in related field is preferred
  • Two years’ experience in activity planning that demonstrates the ability to work effectively with older adults is preferred
  • Passion for helping people achieve their health and wellness goals
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills
  • Possess valid AZ driver’s license and reliable vehicle to use in the performance of job
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills
  • Computer expertise
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a food handler’s card
  • Ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card and comply with CPLC background check policy
  • Physical capability, including bending, twisting, and lifting, related to helping to set up rooms for activities
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to encourage teamwork
    • Multi-cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with diverse community members
  • Bilingual Spanish-English skills Required
  • Knowledge of and ability to access community resources
