Responsibilities
The Survey Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing multiple land survey projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Serving as the primary liaison between SAM and our clients, this role blends technical expertise with strong leadership, operational management, and business development skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage land survey projects from initiation through completion, ensuring all deliverables meet company standards and client requirements.
Prepare and manage project proposals, budgets, schedules, contracts, and billings to ensure overall project success
Monitor and report on project financials, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Work in Progress (WIP), and billing cycles.
Establish work plans, determine staffing needs, and allocate resources across multiple concurrent projects
Provide technical oversight, including signing and sealing plats, field notes, and control drawings as required.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication, presentations, and business development efforts
Represent SAM at client meetings, industry events, and trade shows to support business growth
Collaborate with sub-consultants, internal teams, and external partners to ensure seamless project execution
- Mentor and support staff through training, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities
- Contribute to broader company initiatives and support other operational teams as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned to help achieve company goals
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industry related work experience in a professional or management capacity
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline/and or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large scale projects
- Strong proficiency with or understanding of tools such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, Geopack, MS Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly define assignments/deliverables to team members
- Ability to oversee, mentor and motivate a project team
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and problem solve on the fly
- Ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration with others
- Professional License preferred
