Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented Benefits & HR Coordinator in either Bellingham, WA or Sedro-Woolley, WA!

The Benefits & HR Coordinator plays a vital supporting role within Sedron Technologies’ Human Resources function, helping ensure employees have access to the information and administrative support they need to understand and utilize their benefits.

Reporting to the Director of People Operations, this position is responsible for day-to-day benefits administration, leave and PTO tracking, employee records maintenance, and general HR coordination. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, a service-oriented approach, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding medical, dental, and vision benefits, including enrollment, plan changes, and general coverage information
  • Coordinate open enrollment processes, including preparing employee communications, maintaining timelines, and ensuring accurate elections are submitted to carriers on schedule
  • Process qualifying life event changes and assist employees in navigating benefit modifications in accordance with plan rules and applicable regulations, including ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA
  • Responsible for coordinating transfer of employee premium payments to benefit providers on a regular basis
  • Administer and track employee leave programs including FMLA, state leave, personal leave, and PTO in coordination with managers and the Director of People Operations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date leave records and absence tracking; generate regular reports to support management visibility and compliance
  • Communicate leave policies and employee obligations clearly and consistently, ensuring alignment with federal and state regulations
  • Maintain and update employee personnel files, both digital and physical, in accordance with company policy and legal retention requirements
  • Support onboarding activities including preparation of new hire benefit materials, enrollment walkthroughs, and HR paperwork processing, and New Hire Orientations as needed
  • Assist with offboarding tasks including coordination of benefits termination and COBRA notification processes
  • Respond to verification of employment requests and assist with routine HR correspondence
  • Support HR reporting and data integrity efforts within the HRIS platform
  • Collaborate with payroll to ensure benefits deductions, leave pay, and related changes are accurately reflected each pay period

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years of experience in an HR support, benefits administration, or HR coordinator role
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, including ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, and COBRA
  • Ability to communicate benefits information clearly and empathetically to employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Skilled in data entry and records management with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across HR, payroll, and operations teams
  • Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and equitable treatment of all employees
  • Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have effective verbal, reading, and written communication skills in the English language

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Compensation for this role is between $24.00 - 33.00 hourly
  • Additional pay may apply for off-shift hours, off-site work, or special assignments
  • This role may qualify for a discretionary bonus, recognizing outstanding contributions to team and company success
  • This role requires approximately 10% travel to support Sedron facilities
  • In compliance with state and local pay transparency laws, the expected compensation for this role is shared above. The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role and the final offer will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location. Compensation may be adjusted within this range to reflect regional cost-of-living differences in states where Sedron is hiring.

Must be a US Citizen or legal permanent resident for this position. We are unable to sponsor any employment visas.
