QA Engineer (Business Systems & Order Management)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a QA Engineer (Business Systems & Order Management) based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise software solutions that support critical business operations.
You will work within an agile engineering environment, collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality products.
The position focuses on testing business systems, improving quality processes, and validating complex customer workflows before release.

Accountabilities:

The QA Engineer will be responsible for designing and executing quality assurance strategies for business systems and order management solutions. This role requires strong attention to detail, collaboration with agile teams, and the ability to validate software functionality across complex customer scenarios.

  • Participate actively in a collaborative agile development team and contribute insights that influence product direction.
  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and execute test cases, test plans, and quality validation activities.
  • Independently review testing strategies to ensure reliable, efficient, and high-performing software delivery.
  • Create and maintain test environments that simulate real-world scenarios and customer configurations before product releases.
  • Identify, document, and communicate software defects with clear details to support efficient resolution.
  • Develop and improve quality management processes, procedures, and testing standards.
  • Perform system setup, software installation, configuration, and integration activities.
  • Install and configure hardware and software components, including servers, cameras, and connected devices.
  • Validate business workflows, customer order processes, and service delivery applications.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across development and quality practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering and business teams to ensure solutions meet functional and performance expectations.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a quality assurance professional with experience supporting commercial software applications and testing business-critical systems. You should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • 3+ years of experience supporting commercial software applications.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Salesforce CPQ.
  • Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience testing applications that support customer order-to-service delivery processes.
  • Strong SQL skills, including the ability to execute DML statements for testing activities.
  • Ability to design and execute high-quality functional tests that validate feature reliability and performance.
  • Experience creating structured test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing requirements and customer feedback.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within collaborative, agile environments.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Agile principles and software development best practices.
  • Experience using Jira or similar work management tools.
  • Experience using TestRail or other test management platforms.
  • Experience automating tests for Salesforce configurations and Apex deployments.
  • Experience with serverless application development, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Experience testing PHP and Node.js-based web applications.
