Krispy Kreme's Senior Manager, Consolidations & Technical Accounting, is responsible for leading Krispy Kreme's global consolidations and technical accounting functions. This role oversees the monthly global consolidation process, intercompany accounting, equity method investments, technical accounting research, accounting policy governance, and key internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. The Senior Manager partners closely with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Internal Audit, SEC Reporting, and international finance teams to support complex transactions, business initiatives, and continuous improvement of the Company's accounting processes.
A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Financial Close & Consolidations
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual global consolidation process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee consolidation of domestic and international subsidiaries, including ownership structure changes and foreign currency translation.
- Review consolidation journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Support quarterly and annual SEC reporting related to consolidated financial statements.
Technical Accounting & Accounting Policy
- Lead technical accounting research for complex transactions, new business initiatives, and emerging accounting standards.
- Prepare and review technical accounting memoranda supporting accounting conclusions under U.S. GAAP.
- Serve as owner of the Company's accounting policies and ensure consistent application across the organization.
- Monitor new accounting pronouncements and coordinate implementation of adopted standards.
Intercompany & Equity Method Accounting
- Oversee intercompany accounting, reconciliations, settlements, and elimination processes.
- Lead accounting and reporting for equity method investments, including earnings recognition, impairment assessments, and disclosures.
- Partner with domestic and international finance teams to resolve intercompany accounting issues.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Own SOX controls and governance activities related to consolidations, subsidiaries, intercompany accounting, and technical accounting.
- Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and support internal and external audit activities.
- Drive improvements in close, consolidation, and reporting processes.
Business Partnership
- Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, SEC Reporting, Internal Audit, and international finance teams on accounting and reporting matters.
- Provide accounting guidance for acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, financing transactions, and other strategic initiatives.
- Support system implementations and finance transformation initiatives affecting the close and consolidation process.
Leadership
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the Consolidations & Technical Accounting team.
- Establish priorities and ensure timely execution of key deliverables.
- Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA required.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or public company experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, consolidations, intercompany accounting, and equity method accounting.
- Experience leading technical accounting analyses and working with external auditors.
- Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Preferred Experience
- Big Four or national public accounting experience preferred.
- Experience in an SEC registrant and multinational organization preferred.
- Experience with Oracle ERP, consolidation systems, and SOX compliance preferred.
- Experience leading finance transformation and process improvement initiatives preferred.
