Job Description

Manager of Sales - Engine X

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager of Sales - Engine X based in the United States.

This is a hands-on sales leadership opportunity within a fast-growing fintech and travel technology environment.
You’ll lead a team of Account Executives responsible for driving adoption and spend across a corporate card product.
As a player-coach, you’ll remain deeply involved in customer conversations, deal strategy, objections, and closing.
You’ll own a defined territory and revenue target while helping establish the sales motion and playbook from the ground up.
The role combines frontline coaching, pipeline development, forecasting discipline, and direct selling.
You’ll also bring valuable field intelligence to senior sales and product leaders to continuously improve the offering.
It’s an ideal opportunity for an ambitious sales leader who thrives in fast-moving environments where there is significant room to build and influence.

Accountabilities
  • Own a defined territory and book of business, driving conversion of existing customers and new prospects into active corporate card customers with meaningful spend.
  • Take full accountability for sales targets and consistently manage performance against assigned revenue and adoption goals.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Executives, setting high standards for execution, activity, pipeline quality, and results.
  • Conduct regular pipeline reviews, identify performance gaps, coach reps through opportunities, and take decisive action when results fall short.
  • Operate as a genuine player-coach by participating directly in strategic deals, modeling effective sales behaviors, handling objections, and supporting closing activities.
  • Build and maintain a healthy, qualified pipeline through both inbound and outbound channels, ensuring strong coverage and accurate forecasting.
  • Establish disciplined forecasting and sales-management rhythms while identifying the metrics and signals that best predict performance.
  • Gather insights from customer and prospect conversations, including objections, buying signals, product gaps, and market trends, and communicate them to senior sales and product stakeholders.
  • Help refine the sales strategy, messaging, processes, and playbook as the product and go-to-market motion continue to evolve.
  • Represent customer and field perspectives internally, helping shape improvements that increase adoption, activation, and spend velocity.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of hands-on sales experience selling corporate card or spend management products to SMB or mid-market customers.
  • At least 1 year of experience directly managing and developing Account Executives or a comparable frontline sales team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of corporate card and spend-management economics, including card activation, interchange, spend velocity, and the priorities of CFO-level buyers.
  • Proven ability to coach sales professionals to a high standard, conduct effective pipeline reviews, address performance issues, and drive consistent execution.
  • Strong track record of managing a sales number and building qualified pipeline across inbound and outbound channels.
  • Experience operating successfully in fast-paced environments where sales processes and playbooks are still being developed and refined.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to distinguish meaningful pipeline signals from activity that does not translate into results.
  • Strong forecasting and CRM discipline; familiarity with Salesforce and strong salesforce.com hygiene is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage directly with customers and senior stakeholders.
  • Genuine player-coach mentality, with a willingness to stay close to deals and lead by example rather than manage exclusively from a distance.
  • High ownership, urgency, adaptability, and comfort making decisions in an evolving business environment.
  • Direct corporate card sales experience is important; general fintech experience without relevant card-selling experience is not considered a substitute.
Benefits
  • Base salary range of $120,000–$144,000 USD, with final compensation based on experience, expertise, and location.
  • Equity provided to all employees.
  • Potential eligibility for additional annual bonuses or commissions depending on the role and compensation structure.
  • Competitive benefits package designed to support employees across different needs and locations.
  • Remote work opportunity within the United States, supported by a flexible hybrid-hub approach where applicable.
  • Resources and workplace support designed to help employees succeed in the environment best suited to their role.
  • Opportunity to join a rapidly scaling technology business and help build a new sales motion from an early stage.
  • High ownership, ambitious growth environment, and the opportunity to develop and lead a high-performing sales team.
  • Applications are expected to be accepted through December 22, 2026, or until the position is filled; early applications are encouraged.
