About the Role:

The Assistant General Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager to ensure the seamless operation of the hotel or hospitality establishment. This position is responsible for overseeing daily activities across departments to maintain high standards of service, safety, and operational efficiency. The Assistant General Manager contributes to strategic planning, including pre-opening activities and yield management, to maximize profitability and guest satisfaction. They lead teams by identifying and solving operational challenges, managing food costs, and enforcing safety procedures to create a secure and welcoming environment. Ultimately, this role ensures that the property meets its financial goals while delivering exceptional hospitality experiences to guests.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in hotel or hospitality management roles.
  • Proven knowledge of hotel operations, including food and beverage management and safety procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in identifying and resolving operational issues.
  • Familiarity with yield management and cost control techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pre-opening hotel projects or new property launches.
  • Certification in hospitality management or related professional credentials.
  • Advanced knowledge of hospitality software and property management systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a multi-departmental hospitality environment.
  • Additional training or certification in safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing daily hotel operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Support pre-opening activities including staff recruitment, training, and operational setup.
  • Monitor and control food costs and inventory to optimize profitability.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Analyze operational data and yield management metrics to identify opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Lead and motivate staff by providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Identify operational problems promptly and develop effective solutions to maintain service quality.
  • Collaborate with department heads to coordinate activities and improve overall guest satisfaction.
