Shipping- TN in Pikeville, Tennessee at Virnig Manufacturing, Inc.

The Shipping Associate is responsible for ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely staging, packaging, and shipping of attachments and parts. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to operate a forklift, and thrive in both indoor and outdoor environments.

· Prepare shipments by boxing, crating, banding, and labeling attachments and parts.

· Build shipping crates and pallets as needed to support outgoing shipments.

· Ship parts using standard carriers parcel, LTL and truckloads.

· Stage and load/unload trailers, ensuring proper trailer selection and organization.

· Operate forklifts and other equipment to move attachments and materials safely in the yard.

· Coordinate yard activities, including traffic flow, check-in procedures, and communication with dock personnel.

· Maintain accurate documentation and complete shipping paperwork in a timely manner.

· Perform routine maintenance on shipping equipment to ensure functionality.

· Adhere to all safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Practice ergonomic safety procedures as outlined for the role.

· Collaborate with other team members across all shifts to meet departmental productivity and quality goals.

· Communicate effectively with leads and supervisors about concerns or process improvements.

· Support other departments or take on additional duties as needed.

· Work overtime when required.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

· Forklift operation experience required.

· Basic math and reading comprehension skills.

Skills and Competencies:

· Forklift experience

· General knowledge of shipping procedures

· Can work outdoors in all weather

· Good organizational skills with attention to detail

· Good communication skills (verbal, listening, written).

· Able to work both independently and as a team.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

· Frequent bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching required throughout the shift.

· Regular exposure to repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders.

· Ability to stand for extended periods on concrete floors.

· Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmet, and safety glasses.
