Billing Coordinator

Billing Coordinator

We are seeking a full-time Billing Coordinator to join our Billing Department. This critical role involves preparing and reviewing medical documentation while working closely with Patient Coordinators, Home Health Aides, Nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy in billing and payroll processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Contact Home Health Aides and Nurses to retrieve missing notes and request corrections to charting.
  • Process, review, and prepare medical and caregiver notes for accuracy and billing readiness.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure documentation is complete, timely, and compliant with company standards.
  • Track and monitor weekly receipt of medical notes and follow up on outstanding documentation.
  • Collaborate with Patient Coordinators, clinical staff, and other departments to resolve documentation and billing issues.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records within medical management and billing systems.
  • Use medical management software, PDF editing software, spreadsheets, email, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Support payroll processes by ensuring documentation are received and processed within established deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot problems and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple departments to ensure a seamless authorization, documentation, and billing process.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent reading, writing, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with Salesforce and/or Axxess is a plus but not required.
  • Previous experience in healthcare billing, medical records, documentation review, quality assurance, or a related field is preferred.
