Legal Editor/ diteur juridique

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Legal Editor / Éditeur juridique in Canada.

This role is a unique opportunity for a legally trained professional to contribute to the development and management of high-impact legal publications used by practitioners and institutions.
The position focuses on coordinating editorial projects, ensuring the quality and timely delivery of legal manuscripts across print and digital formats.
You will collaborate closely with respected authors and legal experts while helping shape authoritative reference materials.
The environment is fully remote and highly collaborative, involving cross-functional coordination with editorial and content teams.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining legal expertise, editorial rigor, and project management.
It offers the chance to influence the dissemination of legal knowledge at a national and international level.

Accountabilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate a portfolio of legal publications across online and print formats, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely delivery of content.
  • Follow up with authors to secure manuscripts, updates, and revisions in line with editorial schedules and publication deadlines.
  • Recruit new authors and manage transitions when contributors withdraw from projects.
  • Participate actively in the editorial lifecycle, including manuscript preparation, review coordination, and publication of French-language content.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with legal professionals, academics, judiciary members, librarians, and external contributors.
  • Support translation-related initiatives and act as a key point of contact for authors and internal teams across multiple projects.
Requirements:
  • Strong written and spoken proficiency in both French and English.
  • Law degree required, with membership in the Barreau du Québec or the Chambre des notaires du Québec considered an asset.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines in both print and digital publishing environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools and large language models into daily workflows, including prompt optimization for content quality and consistency.
