SalSon Logistics is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Customer Service Representative (CSR) – Drayage/Order Entry to support our fast-paced Newark Port operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring container movements are entered accurately, scheduled efficiently, and communicated effectively between customers, dispatch, and operations.

Position Summary

The CSR – Drayage/Order Entry position is responsible for the accurate entry and management of pier and port-related container orders. This role works closely with customers, dispatchers, and operations teams to ensure timely movement of freight throughout the Port of Newark and surrounding terminals.

This is not a traditional customer service role. The primary focus is pier order management, container tracking, appointment coordination, and order entry within a drayage environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Enter and process customer drayage orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor container availability and terminal activity.
  • Coordinate appointments and delivery schedules with customers and operations.
  • Verify shipping instructions, container numbers, and delivery requirements.
  • Communicate order updates, delays, and exceptions to customers.
  • Track container movements from port pickup through final delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records within transportation management systems.
  • Work closely with dispatch, drivers, and operations personnel to ensure service commitments are met.
  • Resolve customer inquiries related to container status, scheduling, and deliveries.
  • Assist with documentation and administrative support for drayage operations.
  • Qualifications
  • Previous customer service, transportation, logistics, or drayage experience preferred.
  • Experience with order entry in a transportation or supply chain environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
  • Experience working with ports, terminals, container freight, or drayage operations is highly preferred.
