Role Overview
We're looking for a driven SDR to generate qualified pipeline for our sales team. You'll be the first point of contact for prospects, identifying opportunities and setting the stage for successful sales conversations. This is a great fit for someone early in their sales career looking to build a foundation in prospecting and grow into a closing role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and qualify leads through outbound calls, emails, and social outreach
- Research target accounts to identify decision-makers and relevant pain points
- Book qualified meetings for Account Executives
- Maintain accurate records of outreach and lead status in the CRM
- Meet or exceed monthly quotas for qualified meetings/opportunities
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to refine messaging and target lists
- Follow up promptly on inbound leads and marketing-qualified leads
- 0-2 years of sales, customer service, or related experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with high-volume outbound outreach (calls/emails)
- Experience with CRM tools
- Self-motivated, coachable, and resilient in the face of rejection
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Hands-on fluency with AI tools such as Claude, and a demonstrated habit of using them to work faster and produce more
- Experience in the higher education or the public sector
- Familiarity with higher education buying processes, funding models, and RFP-driven procurement
- Experience building custom workflows in Hubspot CRM
- Background in Higher Education or K-12
- Experience supporting a company through a growth, fundraising, or exit process
- Interest in building and leading a team
- Consistently hitting or exceeding monthly quota for qualified meetings/opportunities
- A high percentage of booked meetings convert to sales-qualified opportunities
- Fast, consistent follow-up on inbound and marketing-qualified leads (same-day response)
- Clean, up-to-date CRM data with accurate lead status and notes
- Positive feedback from AEs on lead quality
- Steady improvement in outreach-to-meeting conversion rate over time
