Position Summary
As a BOH Team Member at Good Ambler's 2 North Riverside location, you will play an integral role in supporting daily kitchen operations and preparing a variety of baked goods and café offerings. You'll assist with baking pastries, preparing sandwiches and salads, packing wholesale orders, and completing basic pastry prep while working alongside a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with baking pastries and other baked goods
- Preparing sandwiches, salads, and other café menu items
- Completing basic pastry prep, including cookies, muffins, and other bakery items
- Packing and organizing wholesale orders for distribution
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including dishwashing, trash removal, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas
- Following food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborating with the team and stepping in where needed to support daily operations
About You:
- Previous kitchen, bakery, or food service experience is preferred but not required
- Able to reliably arrive for scheduled shifts beginning at 5:00 AM
- Must have or be willing to obtain a food handler's certification
- Reliable and able to commit to a consistent schedule, including early morning start times as needed
- Able to work efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working independently while also being a supportive team member
- Open to feedback and eager to learn new skills
- Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing and walking for up to 10 hours, lifting up to 50 lbs., and performing repetitive kitchen tasks
- Comfortable working in an environment with potential allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, eggs, and dairy
- Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly
- Schedule: Approximately 30-35 hours per week. Monday through Friday with a 5:00 AM start time.
- Compensation: $17.05/hour + Tips
- Paid leave and paid sick leave in accordance with Chicago requirements.
