Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:


The Tractor Operator is responsible for safely operating the winery tour tractor and passenger trailer while providing guests with a safe, enjoyable, and professional tour experience. This position safely transports guests throughout the winery property, conducts pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintains the tractor and passenger trailer, and supports the Tour Guide in delivering an exceptional guest experience.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


The duties listed below are representative of the position and are not intended to be all-inclusive. Management reserves the right to assign or modify duties as business needs require.


• Safely operate a tractor and passenger trailer carrying up to approximately 20 guests throughout the winery property.

• Conduct tours in accordance with company safety policies and operational procedures.

• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor and passenger trailer.

• Inspect brakes, steering, hitch connections, tires, seating, handrails, safety chains, lighting, and other required equipment.

• Immediately report maintenance concerns, equipment malfunctions, or unsafe conditions.

• Maintain the cleanliness and overall condition of the tractor and passenger trailer.

• Assist guests with safely boarding and exiting the trailer.

• Ensure guests remain seated while the tractor is in motion.

• Monitor guest safety throughout the tour.

• Operate equipment at safe speeds appropriate for terrain, weather, visibility, and guest conditions.

• Modify, delay, or suspend tours when conditions become unsafe.

• Assist the Tour Guide in providing a welcoming and enjoyable guest experience.

• Answer basic guest questions and refer wine or winery-specific questions to the Tour Guide.

• Represent Wilson Creek Winery professionally at all times.

• Report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, or guest incidents immediately.

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

• Wear required uniforms.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:


• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

• Ability to safely operate a tractor and successfully complete company-provided training.

• Excellent guest service and communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

• Weekend availability is required. Must be available to work Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and winery events.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and sun.

• Agricultural equipment.

• Wet or slippery surfaces.

• Dust and pollen.

• Moderate to loud noise levels.

• Stand and walk for extended periods.

• Sit while operating a tractor for extended periods.

• Frequently enter and exit the tractor.

• Walk over uneven vineyard terrain.

• Climb steps on the passenger trailer.

• Use hands and arms to operate equipment and assist guests.

• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull.

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Assist guests with boarding and exiting the passenger trailer.
