Job Posting: Junior Parts Purchaser
Location: Leduc
Department: Fleet & Maintenance
Reports To: Shop Foreperson
About the Role
Pitbull is growing, and so is our fleet. To support day-to-day shop operations and keep parts moving efficiently, we’re adding a Junior Parts Purchaser to the team.
This role is focused on daily purchasing, shop requests, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Ordering
- Process daily parts requests from the shop and field teams
- Source parts from approved vendors to meet operational needs
- Prepare and submit purchase orders accurately and on time
- Follow up on backorders, delivery timelines, and urgent requests
- Communicate order status clearly with mechanics, supervisors, and vendors
Shop & Operational Support
- Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day parts needs
- Coordinate rush and emergency orders to minimize downtime
- Ensure correct parts are ordered based on work orders and specifications
- Support warranty parts returns and vendor exchanges as required
Vendor & Cost Management
- Maintain positive working relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Assist with price checks and basic cost comparisons
- Escalate pricing or availability concerns as needed
Systems & Documentation
- Accurately enter purchasing data into company systems
- Maintain clean records for purchase orders, invoices, and receipts
- Support inventory accuracy by ensuring purchased parts are properly documented
Qualifications & Experience
- 1+ years of experience in purchasing, parts, or supply chain support (oil & gas, industrial, or heavy equipment experience is an asset)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working with computer systems and software, including email, spreadsheets, and purchasing or work-order platforms
- Reliable and accountable, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with shop, field, and office teams
- Professional, respectful communicator who takes ownership of follow-through and service quality
- Successful candidates will be required to provide professional references and complete a background check as a condition of employment.
