Grain Production Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experience Production Manager to lead our Evansville grain plant operations and inspire a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who is passionate about developing people, fostering employee engagement, and building high-performing teams while driving operation excellence.

As the leader of the facility, you will be responsible for guiding and mentoring employees, establishing clear expectations, and creating an environment where team members can grow succeed, and contribute to the organizational goals. You will oversee all aspects of plant operations, ensuring production, quality, safety, and customer service standards are consistently achieved.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
  • Provide visible, day-to-day leadership for plant employees, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration, and respect.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members through regular feedback, performance management, and training opportunities.
  • Lead employee training, and skill development initiatives to build a knowledgeable and highly engaged workforce.
  • Create an environment that promotes safety, teamwork, continuous learning, and employee growth.
  • Recognize and develop employee potential, helping team members achieve both personal and professional success.
  • Manage staffing needs, schedules, performance expectations, and employee relations matters in partnership with leadership and Human Resources.

Operations & Production Management

  • Coordinate daily plant operations to achieve production goals while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Establish and maintain standardized operating procedures that drive consistency and operational excellence.
  • Monitor inventory levels and material usage, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee the flow of incoming supplies and outgoing products to ensure efficient operations and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows, solve operational challenges, and improve overall plant performance.
  • Utilize data and operational metrics to identify opportunities for increased productivity and continuous improvement.

Safety, Quality & Maintenance

  • Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Lead by example in promoting safe work behaviors and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Oversee maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, operational readiness, and compliance standards.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to uphold product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and operational performance.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience operating heavy machinery.
  • Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, grain operations, or a related operational environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and developing employees in a supervisor or management role.
  • Strong ability to build relationships, motivate teams, manage performance, and drive employee engagement.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and seasonal business demands.
  • Physical ability to walk, sit, or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
