Automotive Technician in Flushing, Michigan at Flushing Service Center

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Repair Technician to join our service team. This position is ideal for a technician who takes pride in accurate diagnostics, quality workmanship, and being part of a professional, team-driven shop. You will work on a wide range of domestic and import vehicles using modern tools, equipment, and diagnostic systems.

Schedule & Work-Life Balance

• Monday – Friday, 7:45 AM to 5:00 PM
• No nights. No weekends.
• Major holidays off

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate diagnostics using scan tools, electrical schematics, and testing procedures
• Repair and service engines, powertrain systems, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, and driveline components
• Perform alignments, inspections, and routine maintenance services
• Diagnose and repair electrical and drivability issues; assist with ADAS-related service when applicable
• Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and efficiently
• Document repairs, diagnostic steps, and parts used with clear and accurate repair notes
• Communicate findings and recommendations effectively with service advisors and customers
• Follow manufacturer specifications and shop safety standards at all times

Qualifications & Experience

• Prior experience as an automotive repair technician in a professional shop preferred
• Strong diagnostic skills, including electrical and drivability concerns
• Experience working on both foreign and domestic vehicles
• Familiarity with alignments, powertrain repairs, and complex mechanical systems
• Comfortable using scan tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair information systems
• Welding experience and ADAS calibration knowledge are a plus, but not required
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and professionally
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to quality repairs

Pay & Compensation

• Pay is based on experience, quality of work, and effort
• $20-50 hr flat rate based on quality and experience
• Compensation reflects skill level, diagnostic ability, productivity, and consistency
