Job Description
RW Connection, a distributor of industrial and hydraulic hose, conveyor belt, gaskets, fittings, couplings, safety products, and industrial MRO supplies, is seeking an Inside Sales & Warehouse Associate to join our team in Glen Burnie, MD.
The Glen Burnie branch is a small, hands-on operation. This new team member will work across inside sales, counter sales, warehouse fulfillment, inventory, and branch support. This person will follow through on priorities, spot problems early, help coordinate the day's work, and provide dependable coverage.

Customer Service, Inside Sales & Counter Sales | Approximately 35-45%
- Welcome walk-in customers and respond promptly and professionally to phone and email inquiries.
- Listen carefully to customer needs, ask practical questions, and help identify appropriate products or solutions; involve the Branch Manager or technical resources when needed.
- Prepare accurate quotes, enter sales orders, check pricing and availability, and communicate expected lead times.
- Process counter transactions and payments accurately in accordance with company procedures.
- Follow up on quotes, open orders, backorders, special orders, expedites, returns, and information requests until resolved.
- Build customer relationships through responsive service and reliable follow-through; recommend related products and share customer needs or leads with the Branch Manager and sales team.
- Maintain accurate customer, order, and transaction records in company systems.
- Receive inbound shipments, verify quantities and condition, and resolve or report discrepancies promptly.
- Pick, stage, pack, label, and prepare customer orders for counter pickup, delivery, or shipment with a high level of accuracy.
- Load and unload trucks and move hose, fittings, supplies, and equipment using safe material-handling practices.
- Stock and organize inventory; perform cycle counts; investigate discrepancies; and help maintain accurate records.
- Assist with basic hose assembly, product preparation, or other value-added work after completing required training and demonstrating competency.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe warehouse, counter, and shared work areas.
- Review priorities with the Branch Manager and help coordinate orders, warehouse work, inventory needs, and follow-up items.
- Own assigned work, communicate early when a commitment may be missed, and bring possible solutions with the issue.
- Monitor open-order, unconfirmed-shipment, backorder, and other branch reports; act on or escalate exceptions.
- Coordinate with purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales, and other branches to resolve order, receiving, invoice, or customer account issues.
- Identify practical improvements to safety, organization, response time, inventory accuracy, and customer service.
- Learn the broader business - products, suppliers, customers, pricing practices, inventory flow, and branch performance drivers - and help train future team members as experience grows.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in customer service, inside sales, counter sales, warehouse operations, order fulfillment, or a similarly hands-on role.
- Strong communication, reliable follow-through, attention to detail, and a professional, service-minded approach.
- Comfort using computers and the ability to learn order-entry, inventory, email, and other business systems.
- Mechanical aptitude or genuine interest in learning industrial products, applications, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently, ask for help when needed, and contribute proactively to a small team.

Preferred Qualifications
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, reach, climb, push, and pull; and move throughout office, counter, and warehouse areas.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and handle heavier or awkward materials with assistance or appropriate equipment.
- Comfort working in a warehouse environment that may include varying temperatures, dust, odors, and mechanical noise.
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment and follow all safety rules.
