Job Description
Overview of position:
The 1st Grade Spanish Immersion Teacher supports the academic growth of students through the implementation of DLS pedagogy, comprehensive classroom management, implementing effective engagement strategies, and building authentic teacher/student relationships.
The 1st Grade Spanish Immersion teacher is a contributing member of the Spanish Immersion Program and works closely with campus principals, instructional leaders and teachers, parents/families, and students to ensure measurable positive student outcomes.

The anticipated start date for this position is 08/04/2026, however, an earlier start date may be considered.
The selected candidate will report to the Whitman School Principal.
Pay and Benefits:
- Employees at DLS are compensated in accordance with other Denver-area charter schools. The annual salary of $57,120 to - $63,036.
- 8 days of PTO with an option to roll days to the following school year. PTO will be prorated to reflect a mid-year start.

Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of teaching experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or closely related field
- Completion of required READ Act training
- Official college transcripts (evaluated by NACES member, if you completed your education outside the US)
- Passing score on Praxis 5001 within one year of hire
- Completion of required READ ACT Training
- Official college transcripts evaluated by a NACES member.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of teaching experience
- Previous immersion or Dual Language Immersion teaching experience
