Sales Director - Financial Services

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Director - Financial Services based in Canada.

This role is designed for an experienced enterprise sales leader who can help shape the future of AI-powered customer experiences within the financial services industry.
You will own strategic customer relationships, drive complex enterprise sales cycles, and help organizations transform how they serve their customers.
Working with leading banks, insurers, and financial institutions, you will position innovative AI solutions that create measurable business value.
The role combines business development, consultative selling, and go-to-market strategy in a fast-moving technology environment.
You will collaborate closely with product, technical, and operations teams to deliver solutions that address complex customer challenges.
This is an opportunity to influence a growing sales organization while helping define scalable enterprise sales practices.

Accountabilities:

The Sales Director will be responsible for driving revenue growth by building strong enterprise relationships, leading strategic sales initiatives, and developing effective approaches to expand market presence within financial services. This role requires a combination of commercial expertise, customer empathy, and the ability to navigate complex buying processes with senior stakeholders.

  • Identify, prospect, and engage potential enterprise customers through research, networking, outreach, and relationship-building activities.
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders across financial services organizations.
  • Own complex sales cycles from initial discovery through negotiation, contract execution, and successful customer onboarding.
  • Lead discussions around business value, customer needs, and AI-driven transformation opportunities.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, account plans, and proposals aligned with enterprise customer objectives.
  • Manage large-scale opportunities, including complex six- and seven-figure annual contract value deals.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, engineering, and operations teams to create effective customer solutions and improve sales execution.
  • Help establish and refine go-to-market processes, sales methodologies, and best practices within a growing organization.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a commercially driven sales leader with extensive experience selling enterprise technology solutions and managing sophisticated customer relationships. You should be comfortable operating in a high-growth environment, engaging executive audiences, and creating new sales opportunities from the ground up.

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise customer-facing sales roles, with a proven record of identifying and closing large strategic accounts.
  • Experience managing significant sales quotas, including $1M+ quota ownership and complex enterprise deal cycles.
  • Strong background in consultative selling, relationship management, and solution-based sales approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead negotiations and close high-value contracts with multiple stakeholders involved.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate market opportunities, customer needs, and sales performance data.
  • Proven experience in prospecting, pipeline generation, and building relationships with enterprise customers.
  • Experience developing sales strategies, go-to-market motions, or sales processes in early-stage or high-growth environments.
  • Knowledge of AI technologies, enterprise software, automation, or emerging technology trends is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with financial services organizations, including banking, insurance, or related industries, is a strong advantage.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in an environment requiring ownership, speed, and continuous improvement.
