Position Summary:
Responsible for creating and maintaining a strong partnership between Feeding Northeast Florida (FNEFL) and our partner agencies and retail donor partners. The objective of this position is to manage our current partner agencies and develop new relationships with prospective partner agencies. This role also specializes in managing our relationships with retail donors--connecting them to partner agencies where appropriate. This position acts as liaison between FNEFL and our partners.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all assigned partner agencies, ensuring that each is compliant with all Feeding America, state and local regulations.
- Maintain agency relations materials and artifacts including - operating and training manuals, updated policies and procedures, and professional presentation of internal and external communication materials.
- Manage relationships with retail donor partners through stewardship visits and proactively address any issues.
- Create and manage donation channel connections between partner agencies and retail donors where appropriate.
- Identify new donor partners and/or food sources with opportunity for partner agency enablement.
Partner Agency Management:
- Schedule and conduct monitoring visits at partner agencies. As of the publishing of this document, partner agencies must be monitored at a minimum frequency every two years.
- Ensure continued compliance and eligibility of current and prospective partner agencies for membership as contractual partners.
- Assist partner agencies in meeting standards; follow-up on partner agency concerns and issues.
- Conduct orientation for new partner agency representatives, training to expectations, statistics reporting, and online ordering - providing ongoing support as needed.
- Develop the tools necessary to monitor partner agency performance and track trends.
- Work with partner agencies to define goals and meet their goals.
- Coach existing and new partner agencies in industry best practices.
Retail Donor Management:
- Conduct regular retail store stewardship visits on a defined cadence (e.g., monthly or quarterly per store), documenting donation trends, resolving issues, and maintaining relationships with store-level contacts like receiving and store management.
- With assistance from Data Analyst, track retail donation volume by store and identify high-performing vs. lapsed partners, developing re-engagement strategies for the latter.
- Identify and cultivate new retail donor prospects including grocery chains, specialty retailers, big-box stores, small businesses and convenience chains.
- Coordinate with the internal operations teams and/or agency partners to ensure retail pickups are operationally feasible and food safety standards are met at point of donation.
- Support retail-enabled agency partners in using Meal Connect for logging donated pounds received.
Job Qualifications:
- Outstanding outreach, organization, compliance, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record; access to dependable transportation with the ability to travel throughout indicated territory on a regular basis.
- Ability to set own priorities and work independently. Position will require in-office and remote work availability.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft office programs and computer skills, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 1-year related experience.
- Experience working with community based, nonprofit organizations and/or retail grocery industry.
Work Environment:
This position is in an office/warehouse environment and requires a flexible schedule and travel to accommodate FNEFL events. Work is performed indoors and outdoors with regular exposure to all weather conditions. In instances of a federal, state, or local declared emergency, FNEFL is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all employees may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties.
