POSITION: 2nd Shift Supervisor, Manufacturing Manufacturing
DESCRIPTION: The Manufacturing Supervisor leads a production team to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets while ensuring adherence to operational and quality standards. This role is accountable for the performance of a production area or shift and has direct impact on departmental production results.
REPORTING STRUCTURE: Manufacturing Manager or Director
DIRECT REPORTS (if applicable): Production employees within the assigned area or shift
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Lead production teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity cost targets.
- Ensure adherence to operational and quality standards to maintain compliant production.
- Manage staffing, output, on-time delivery, and standard compliance within the assigned area or shift.
- Resolve moderately complex production and personnel issues to maintain operational performance.
- Analyze root causes and implement corrective actions to meet operational targets.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, supply chain, Program Management, and maintenance to resolve operational challenges.
- Communicate production performance, issues, and improvement plans to management and cross-functional teams.
- Directly manage production employees to ensure performance, coaching, and accountability.
- Manage labor utilization, overtime, scrap, and rework to control costs and improve efficiency.
- Promote and maintain a safe, healthy, secure, and environmentally responsible workplace by ensuring compliance with EHS&S policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; demonstrate EHS&S leadership through identifying and mitigating risks, reporting incidents, encouraging worker participation, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring employees receive required training and are competent to work safely and responsibly.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Required Experience Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in manufacturing, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Supervisor, Manufacturing
Experience:
2–3 years of manufacturing experience with prior leadership or supervisory responsibility.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of production workflows, KPIs, labor planning, and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in manufacturing systems, KPI tracking, data analysis, and problem-solving tools.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to manage daily performance and corrective actions.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and reporting.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS Physical and/or Mental Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel office equipment, objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds, and occasionally up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, mid-range vision, and the ability to adjust focus to facilitate using computer. Must be able to focus on multitasking and managing overlapping priorities.
