HOUSEKEEPING HOURLY in PETOSKEY, Michigan at NORTHERN HOTELS GROUP, LLC

The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring guest rooms and public areas are clean, sanitized, comfortable, and welcoming while delivering exceptional hospitality. This position plays a vital role in creating a positive guest experience by maintaining Marriott brand standards for cleanliness, appearance, and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to Marriott brand standards.

Make beds, replace linens, and replenish towels and guest amenities.

Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, showers, tubs, sinks, mirrors, and floors.

Dust, vacuum, sweep, and mop guest rooms and designated public areas.

Empty trash and replace liners.

Restock housekeeping carts, supply closets, and linen areas throughout the shift.

Inspect rooms for cleanliness, maintenance concerns, and missing items; report issues promptly.

Ensure guest rooms are properly prepared for arriving guests.

Follow all safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Maintain security by reporting suspicious activity and following key control procedures.

Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests when encountered.

Assist with laundry duties or public area cleaning as needed.

Help maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked housekeeping department.

Support fellow team members during busy periods to ensure efficient hotel operations.

Follow all Marriott policies, hotel procedures, and health and safety guidelines.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent time management and ability to meet productivity expectations.

Positive attitude with a commitment to outstanding guest service.

Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and lift throughout an entire shift.

Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance.

Push housekeeping carts and operate cleaning equipment.

Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.

Work Environment

Indoor hotel environment with frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals.

Weekend, holiday, and flexible schedule availability required.

Must maintain professional appearance and follow hotel uniform standards.
