Barback in Swampscott, Massachusetts at Mission on the Bay

The Barback is responsible for providing guests with a positive dining experience through excellent organization skills, maintaining bar stock and assisting bartenders.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provides excellent guest service according to expectations outlined in the training manual § Carries out all tasks necessary to prepare the restaurant for service prior to pre-shift
• Maintains shift par levels on all bottles, beer, mixers, juices and fruit garnishes
• Keeps all service wells stocked with ice
• Maintains cleanliness of work area behind and adjacent to bar
• Completes daily and weekly side work on a consistent and thorough basis
• Assists other staff members as necessary
• Completes additional tasks as assigned by the management team
• Keeps management informed of any problems, complaints from guests or other team members § Follows all company policies as outlined in company handbook

Accountabilities:

• Addresses all guests in a positive and professional way, promoting company high-quality products and services
• Takes all actions with guest’s best interest in mind, so as to continue to build new business and to avoid guest complaints
• Adheres to all barback expectations as defined in the training manual at 100%

• Able to read, understand and speak English. Able to communicate clearly and concisely § Able to stand for an eight-hour shift
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• Able to reach above head and bend to put items on the floor or low shelves
• Able to climb stairs and ladders
• Able to repetitively lift glass racks, bus buckets and other items § Able to work as part of a team for the benefit of the guest
• Able to work at a consistently fast pace in a loud environment
