Regional Fleet Manager in United States Embassy at Jobgether

The Regional Fleet Manager will lead fleet program execution, team development, compliance management, and operational improvements across an assigned region. Key responsibilities include:

• Manage regional fleet operations to ensure alignment with business priorities, operational requirements, and enterprise fleet strategy.
• Lead, coach, and develop remote Fleet Coordinators, Technicians, and Mechanics through goal setting, performance management, training, and career development.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs and drive compliance with fleet performance and safety targets.
• Establish, improve, and maintain scalable fleet processes, workflows, and operational standards.
• Ensure vehicle and equipment inspections, maintenance records, and regulatory documentation are accurate and up to date.
• Manage fleet asset yards, including security, inventory accuracy, reserve availability, asset growth, and redistribution planning.
• Support capital planning activities, including asset acquisition requests, retirement processes, and expense management.
• Conduct field visits to evaluate operational performance, compliance, service quality, and vendor effectiveness.
• Manage relationships with external fleet vendors, conduct performance reviews, and implement improvement plans when needed.
• Partner with Operations and corporate teams by providing fleet insights, recommendations, and strategic guidance.
• Serve as a regional subject matter expert on DOT and FMCSA compliance requirements.
• Support fleet specifications, innovation initiatives, and safety improvements for new and existing assets.
• Develop and deliver training programs that improve fleet knowledge, operational consistency, and compliance.
• Analyze fleet data, financial reports, and performance metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Travel regularly throughout the assigned region, including occasional overnight travel.

The ideal candidate will have extensive fleet management experience combined with strong leadership, analytical, and communication abilities. Required qualifications include:

• 5+ years of experience in fleet management, fleet operations, or related program leadership roles.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Experience managing employees, including remote teams and distributed direct reports.
• Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA compliance requirements.
• Experience developing and delivering employee training programs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience developing and managing regional budgets and interpreting financial reports.
• Ability to build strong relationships, negotiate effectively, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Strong integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
• Experience managing large construction, utility, or service vehicle fleets preferred.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
• Experience with fleet management information systems such as JD Edwards or similar platforms preferred.
• Familiarity with telematics systems, asset management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and fleet diagnostic equipment preferred.
• Ability to work in office, outdoor, and field environments while meeting physical requirements, including occasional lifting, climbing, and exposure to varying weather conditions.
