Job Description
Up to $40.00/hour (based on experience and skill set) + $5.50/hour shift differential for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM
Tuesday–Friday: four 10-hour shifts and no weekends
Full-Time | Redwood City, California
SAGE Redwood City is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Neurology team. This position is ideal for an RVT with advanced anesthesia skills who is interested in Neurology, MRI, diagnostic imaging, and specialty veterinary medicine.
You'll work alongside board-certified neurologists providing anesthesia and advanced nursing care for patients undergoing MRI, diagnostic procedures, and treatment for complex neurologic conditions.
What You Bring
- Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license.
- Three or more years of anesthesia monitoring experience.
- Strong knowledge of anesthetic medications, induction, intubation, patient monitoring, and recovery.
- Experience managing anesthesia for higher-risk or complex patients.
- MRI or advanced diagnostic imaging experience is a plus.
- Strong critical thinking, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused during lengthy or complex procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
In Your Day-to-Day, You Will
- Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and prepare patients for Neurology and diagnostic procedures.
- Place IV catheters and support anesthesia induction, intubation, monitoring, and recovery.
- Monitor anesthesia and patient safety during MRI and other advanced diagnostic procedures.
- Operate anesthesia and patient-monitoring equipment within the MRI environment while following MRI safety protocols.
- Assist board-certified neurologists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Provide advanced nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
- Maintain accurate anesthesia records and patient documentation.
- Monitor patients closely and communicate changes in condition to the medical team.
- Maintain anesthesia, monitoring, and procedural equipment.
- Collaborate with Neurology, Diagnostic Imaging, Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and other Specialty teams to support efficient patient care.
