Testing Specialist - South Campus
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Administer tests, including TSIA, GED, CLEP,Accuplacer ESL, correspondence, make-up, distance learning and accessibilityservices tests. Testing specialists input test scores into the student databasesystem, collaborate with local high schools and dual credit directors todeliver testing at their locations, and troubleshoot computer and test issuesduring administration.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Job Functions:
- Administer a variety of academicand professional exams, including TSIA2, Accuplacer ESL, GED, CLEP,correspondence, make-up and accessibility services exams.
- Collaborate with dual credit andservice area high schools to administer offsite TSIA2 exams as needed.
- Uphold all administration andsecurity standards of our external vendors and internal stakeholders, includingPearson, College Board and SJC academic and technical programs.
- Process associated documents forall exams and input test scores into the student database system.
- Assist students and othercommunity testers to schedule and request test appointments.
- Maintain secure storage fortesting materials and internal testing records.
- Create student identificationrecords in the student database system when appropriate.
Additional JobFunctions:
- Answer phone, emails and other communications to assiststudents, staff, faculty and community with testing inquiries.
- Maintain well-organized and clean service areas for studentand staff use.
- Collaborate with other San Jacinto College division andacademic departments to facilitate testing services.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED/MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS

Education andExperience:
Required Education & Experience:
- Associate degree or four years of office experience in a college/educational environment.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Completion of college-level credits or some post-secondary education
- In-depth knowledge of testing
- In-depth knowledge of Banner
- In-depth knowledge of and ability to enforce institutional policies and procedures
- Understanding of FERPA law
Note: The duties of this position require a physical presence at the assigned on-site work location during unrestricted operations with very limited or no opportunity for remote work arrangements.
Salary Grade: 108
Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
