Warehouse Truck Valet in Tampa, Florida at Pepin Distributing Company

Our Warehouse Truck Valet is responsible for safely moving, parking, and repositioning commercial trucks and trailers within the warehouse yard to ensure efficient loading and unloading. They must verify vehicle identification, adhere to strict safety regulations, report equipment malfunctions, and help optimize yard flow to prevent congestion. This role requires at least one year of CDL Class-A or Class-B experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maneuver tractor-trailers into loading slips while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Work Schedule: Full-time: Sunday 9:00 AM until work is complete for the day; Monday – Thursday 12:00 PM until work is complete for the day.

Starting Pay: Starting at $17.50-18.00 per hour w/ bonus potential every pay period.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely move, park, and reposition commercial trucks and trailers within the warehouse yard.
• Ensure vehicles are correctly aligned at loading docks for efficient loading and unloading. Move trucks in a timely manner to prevent delays in warehouse operations.
• Assist in optimizing yard flow to maximize productivity and minimize congestion.
• Verify truck and trailer identification before moving them. Ensure only authorized personnel operate vehicles within the yard.
• Maintain clean, safe working environment always and adheres to strict safe working practices, Company policies, rules, regulations, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports to supervisor if not immediately correctable.
• Report obvious vehicular equipment malfunctions or safety problems to supervisor immediately.
• Perfect inventory quality checks on all vehicles before clearing for delivery.
• Other job duties as assigned.

• Minimum one (1) year of CDL Class-A or Class-B experience
• CDL Class-A License preferred but not needed
• Comfortable maneuvering tractor trailers into loading slips
• High School diploma, GED, or international equivalent preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Regular and Punctual attendance per the Attendance Guidelines

Physical Requirements:

• Talk, hear, and see (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus)
• Continuous standing and walking during shift
• Must be able to safely operate a pallet jack
• Continuous lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of various packages with weights up to 160 pounds
