Job Description

Summary:

The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and submitting internal and external financial reports, including regulatory filings and executive-level reporting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of financial information across Call Reports, SEC filings, and Board of Directors reporting within regulatory requirements.

Regulatory Reporting (Call Reports)

Prepare and support the quarterly Call Report (FFIEC 041/031) or equivalent regulatory filingsGather, validate, and reconcile data across systems to ensure accuracy and completenessResearch and interpret regulatory instructions and guidanceCoordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve data inconsistenciesAssist with regulatory examinations and respond to regulator inquiries


SEC Reporting

Support the preparation of SEC filings (e.g., 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K), including: Financial statementsFootnote disclosuresManagement discussion and analysis (MD&A) supportEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure requirementsCoordinate with legal, external auditors, and senior finance leadership on filingsMaintain supporting documentation and disclosure controls


Board of Director Reporting

Prepare and compile monthly and quarterly Board reporting packagesDevelop clear, concise financial presentations including: Variance analysisKey performance indicators (KPIs)Trend and risk insightsPartner with leadership to ensure materials are accurate, insightful, and presentation-readyEnhance reporting dashboards and executive summaries


Financial Analysis & Support

Support other functional areas within the bank with financial insightsContribute to strategic projects, system implementations, and process improvements


Leadership & Team Development

Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunitiesFoster a culture of collaboration, accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement


Controls & Compliance

Maintain and document internal controls over financial reporting (SOX or similar frameworks)Ensure all reporting processes comply with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsSupport internal and external audits


Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of reporting processesAssist in implementing automation, reporting tools, and system enhancementsStandardize reporting templates and documentation


Required Education and Experience:

3-7 years of relevant experienceExperience in accounting, preferably in a financial institution or public companyCPA PreferredBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field requiredExtensive knowledge of banking laws and regulationsExperience with SEC reporting, SOX compliance, or public accounting preferredSupervisory experience requiredStrong knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal controlsFamiliarity with SOX compliance frameworks and financial institution regulationsStrong analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiencyExcellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving abilitiesHigh degree of integrity and professional judgment

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, monitors, mouse, keyboard, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, calculators, and fax machines. Due to the physical location of this position, phone ringing, and people conversing, it may be difficult to hear at times and therefore easily distracting.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Flexibility in schedule is required, particularly when meeting deadlines, and is crucial to include possible periods of overtime.

Salary: $80,000.00 - $125,000.00

Pay Transparency:

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data, and individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive-eligible, with payment based on company, business, and/or individual performance.
