Position Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and flexible Substitute Teachers for classes at all levels, from K5 to high school, to join our team on a contract basis. As a Substitute Teacher at CCS, you will step into the classroom as needed, following the lesson plans provided by the regular teacher and ensuring continuity in the learning environment. This is a flexible, as-needed position where you will be providing temporary coverage for teachers who are absent, while maintaining a Christ-centered and respectful classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans and provide quality instruction in a Christ-centered, respectful classroom setting.
- Maintain a positive, disciplined classroom environment that supports student learning and engagement.
- Communicate with school staff about classroom concerns, student progress, and any other important observations.
- Complete necessary documentation such as attendance, student reports, and classroom notes.
- Support students in both academic and social development as needed.
- Supervise students during non-classroom times, including lunch or recess, when required.
- Model CCS's core values of respect, integrity, collaboration, and faith in all interactions.
- Support and adhere to the Standards of Cornerstone Christian Schools policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters.
Education/Qualification Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or in-progress education preferred.
- Previous substituting or teaching experience preferred.
- Previous experience in an educational setting or working with children is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis, adapting to a variety of classroom settings.
- A passion for Christian education and a commitment to fostering both academic and spiritual growth in students.
