Job Description

Position Summary The Clinical Program Coordinator plays a vital role in overseeing and managing the comprehensive exercise programs within a clinical setting. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and delivery of fitness, wellness, and clinical programs while promoting patient safety and education. The Clinical Program Coordinator also provides support in various administrative and operational areas as needed. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with education and experience. Hiring compensation ranges from $17.00 - $24.65 / hour. Minimum Education
  • Graduate from an accredited university with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Clinical exercise physiology preferred.
Experience
  • Preferred one year of experience in a wellness setting, with clinical exercise experience being highly desirable.
  • American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)/National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certification within 12 months of hire date. ACSM Health Fitness Specialist or Clinical Exercise Specialist preferred.
Required Registration/License/Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued from the American Heart Association is required at the time of hire.
  • American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)/National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certification within 12 months of hire date. ACSM Health Fitness Specialist or Clinical Exercise Specialist preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Extensive training and experience in coaching and training patients in patient education on safe and effective exercise.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish rapport and effectively engage with patients, physicians, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to initiate contact with patients, explain exercise programs, obtain necessary medical releases and records, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated competency in conducting thorough subjective and objective assessments to develop personalized fitness plans.
  • Knowledge of exercise equipment usage and ability to provide guidance and support to patients during their exercise routines.
  • Experience in designing and delivering patient education sessions, ensuring patients are well-informed about their specific education dates and exercise protocols.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift, position, push, pull, and/or transfer objects weighing up to and greater than 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and mobility.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Bending, squatting, twisting, and turning.
  • Near acuity: ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent mobilization of patients, exceeding 4 hours per day.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects weighing more than 50 lbs per shift.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, and reaching.
  • Frequent hand, finger, and wrist repetition and moderate dexterity per minute.
  • Frequent exposure to soft voices from a distance greater than 3 feet per hour.
  • Frequent exposure to close eye work per hour.
