Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for gastroenterology, a commitment to patient-centered care, and a desire to work within an innovative, independent practice setting. While prior experience is preferred, we welcome standout applicants who demonstrate potential and a strong willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments of patients to evaluate their health status.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses based on clinical findings and patient history.
  • Order and interpret labs and imaging studies to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, considering individual needs and treatment goals.
  • Administer medications, including injections, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding their health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes.
  • Offer support and guidance to medical staff, including training and mentoring as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all requirements to maintain current state licenses and certifications.
  • Take initial patient histories and perform thorough physical examinations to gather essential diagnostic information.
  • Initiate, document, and communicate the plan of care, ensuring comprehensive screening and preparation of patients for procedures or treatments.
  • Write orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests as part of the care plan.
  • Interpret laboratory and test results, integrating findings into patient management decisions.
  • Consult with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and other care providers to ensure high-quality patient care and continuity of treatment.

Requirements:

  • Unrestricted Federally Issued DEA license.
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP).
  • Proficiency in a full range of clinical skills relevant to gastroenterology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Dedication to providing compassionate care and placing patients' needs as the highest priority.
  • 2 or more years of work experience in primary or specialty care is preferred
  • Remaining up to date on current practices and guidelines from American College of Gastroenterology
