Job Summary
The Community and Economic Development Initiative of Kentucky (CEDIK) seeks a highly qualified individual to join our leadership team as the lead for our Housing Engagement and Research Initiative (HERI). CEDIK is a unit in the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment with faculty and staff in several academic departments. CEDIK’s scope of work covers the land grant mission of the University, research, extension, and instruction; however, this position will be focused on housing, public policy, and economic development. We are seeking someone to foster collaborations with government agencies, non-profit organizations, developers, and community leaders to implement innovative housing solutions. They will be expected to engage stakeholders, policymakers, students, and the public through educational programs, community forums, and workshops focused on housing issues. In collaboration with CEDIK’s research team, this individual will be responsible for:
  • developing educational programming
  • provide technical support to local governments, developers, and community organizations seeking to implement innovative housing projects
  • generate evidence-based policy recommendations to inform local and regional housing policies and strategies

Education/experience:
A Bachelor’s Degree in economics, public health, public policy or a related field is required. The individual is expected to have at least 5 years of experience working in a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint experience required. Proficient in community meeting facilitation and collaboration building, content knowledge of housing issues in Kentucky/U.S. preferred, proficient with interpreting data and trends and presenting information to diverse audiences, proficient with preparing educational programs and presentations. Must be organized, able to prioritize work, and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Must work well as a team player and perform well under deadlines.

Other details:
Our office is moving off-campus to the UK Coldstream Research Campus in Fall 2024. There is ample, free parking for employees and guests.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
