Pharmacy Technician Supervisor at Ellis Medicine – Schenectady , New York

The Technician Supervisor monitors the direct activities of the pharmacy technicians assigned to central pharmacy duties. The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is responsible for organizing the daily activities of the staff.

Requirements:
High School or GED diploma and completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program is required.
Five (5) years' of experience as a pharmacy technician, including at minimum one (1) year of experience in a Pharmacy leadership role.

Position Hours:

• M-F with rotating weekends
• Rotating shift times: Day/Evening/Night

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Possess considerable knowledge of drug names, medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations and different pharmacy work areas and equipment used.
Ability to operate a computer and use related software.

Responsibilities:
• Directly responsible for the management of pharmacy technicians including, but not limited to, hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions, disciplinary actions, vacation schedules, and maintaining payroll records and time reports.
• Plan and schedule work for the pharmacy technicians, ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
• Participate in the creation and development of training tools to assist in the onboarding and ongoing education for the pharmacy technician team.
• Ensure adequate resources to meet needs of patients and staff. Problem-solve patient complaints and complex medication-related issues with communication/follow-up with department heads.
• Provide for technician development and ensure necessary safety and quality control in the delivery of drug products.
• Continue to work as a technician as needed throughout the pharmacy where needed.
• Manage daily operations of technician-related Pharmacy services, including developing, updating, and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all technician duties.

Salary Range: $16.63-$24.11/hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
